Welcome to the world of PHANTOM BLACK
Phantom Black is the electro rock outfit that has no plans to give up and is consistently on the rise, one link at a time. The determination of lead singer and founding member Chase ZX has kept Phantom Black in the eyes of old and new fans alike, while earning industry cred along the way. The band started out as a Metallica cover band in Sarnia, Ontario in the late nineties and went on to travel as far as Germany to record tracks for their expansive catalogue of electro rock and pop infused anthems. Every time the band performs live, they earn the respect of new fans and business associates and are always asked back. In late 2008 they held their first ever “Dark Nite” event on Hallows Eve at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ Toronto and left with the praises of management who described them as “original, entertaining and very well put together”.
While in Europe Phantom Black, under the direction of technical and production mastermind Chase ZX, recorded a music video for the song “Run”. It went on to be licensed for the 2001 PLAYSTATION 2 video game “TEST DRIVE OFFROAD WIDE OPEN” alongside the very band they covered in their earlier days, Metallica. As an independent band, Phantom Black has already recorded music videos for three of their songs; “Run”, “Bulletproof” and “Sinergy”. All of these can be found on YouTube. It doesn’t stop there as in 2008 the group gave away 1000 free downloads of the single “Adrenaline” as part of a MICROSOFT ad campaign. Shortly afterward, their song “Adrenaline” was licensed as background for the official video to the Sufferfest sports event in the U.K. In the same year, MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 bestowed 1st place prize to the group for achieving the most downloads in their competition.
Chase has also appeared on Much Music’s “ROCKSTAR SUPERMODEL” in 2008. On the show, he was made to emulate Trent Reznor in both appearance and musical style – and it is was no coincidence that Nin Inch Nails are listed as one of the band’s major influences. ROGERS TV invited the group to perform their ditty “Down and Out” live on-air and they also gave interviews on INDEPENDENTSCENE.COM and THATCHANNEL.COM.
Next up for the band, who has managed to stay together in the form of lead singer Chase and chief choreographer, Ember Sinclair is a Spring 2010 tour of Asia. Phantom Black recently wrapped their official promotional video for the upcoming tour, which streamed live on Thatchannel.com during taping. The future is bright for Phantom Black and the next few weeks will be very telling of the year to come…stay tuned!
